The restored version of the Cabbalistica database
This web application is a proof of concept for a restored version of the Cabbalistca database and aims to preserve all the data from the original database "as is". It was created by Maximilian de Molière using the TEI Publisher framework. The source data was converted from a MariaDB relational database into TEI-XML. The original application was built at Tel Aviv University and was active approximately 2011-2015.
Description of the original project
Cabbalistica is designed to be a database and Bio-Bibliographic map relating the spread of Kabbalistic texts in Early Modern Christian Europe. It is aimed to collect the maximal amount of sources dated to these period which refers to Kabbalists writings, names, notions and ideas. Documenting authors who devotes parts of their writings to Kabbalah as topic or relate to Kabbalah in any other way, the Database will provide a tool that will enable to trace all kind of inter-relations and inter dependences between different sources and persona.
